Synchronous Teaching

Within Live Video Meeting Platforms

Available Resources at Pima

Currently, there are three primary video meeting platforms used by Pima faculty to support live class meetings, one-to-one conferences, virtual office hours or student-generated meetings:

  1. Google Meet (which is fully integrated with Pima's Gmail and Calendar and supports full classroom visibility).

  2. Zoom (for teaching that involves media streaming, accommodations requests, etc.). To request a license, visit service.pima.edu.

  3. Bongo Virtual Classrooms (while this does not support full classroom visibility, it can support up to 10 participant webcams)

Overview of Teaching Practices Resources

The embedded Google Document below shares recommended teaching practices, computer gear (webcams/mics/monitors), accessibility considerations, and information about all three primary video meeting platforms used at Pima. It is accessible to all Pima faculty or staff that are logged into their Pima Gmail accounts within Chrome.
