The Calendar
and the "Course Schedule" within D2L
Why Do Pima Students Want Faculty To Use a Common Calendar?
For one reason, because it displays on Android smartphones and iPhones through the Pulse app. To learn more about why Pima students want all faculty to manage their dates through D2L's calendar tool, please take a moment to watch this brief conversation which explores the whys and hows of incorporating D2L due dates and availability (i.e. start and end dates).
D2L's Calendar Tool and "Course Schedule" page.
The Calendar Tool. This D2L tool can be made visible to students through Calendar widgets which instructors often include on their course home pages. Such widgets show 5 to 20 upcoming events and link directly to a more detailed "Calendar" page which includes a variety of viewing options (daily, weekly, monthly, list or agenda views), and filtering options). Students can also use the Settings section of this tool to enable and subscribe to calendar feeds which can be synced with students' personal Outlook or Google calendars. To learn more, visit D2L.
The Course Schedule Page. At Pima, students can access this page within the sidebar menu of D2L "Content" by clicking on "Course Schedule" just above any visible modules. This page provides all students with upcoming events as well as a full schedule of any course dates you've added to D2L's calendar. To learn more, visit D2L.
